Example

I have missing teeth. What are the different options for replacing my Missing teeth?

Missing teeth can be replaced by:
(A).Removable Dentures.
(B).Fixed Caps & Bridges.
(C).Implants.

What are the advantage and disadvantage of each?

REMOVABLE DENTURES have ADVANTAGE of not touching or grinding any other teeth for replacing missing teeth. DISADVANTAGE is that they are removable,
dentures have to be removed & washed daily night before going to bed.

FIXED CAPS & BRIDGES has ADVANTAGE that they are fixed on the teeth surface and need not be removed for cleaning etc. DISADVANTAGE: To fix a bridge to replace the missing teeth, we have to grind the enamel of the adjacent teeth on which the bridge will be fixed.

IMPLANTS- has ADVANTAGE that no plates & no grinding of adjacent teeth. DISADVANTAGE it is a minor surgical procedure & itís costly as compared to other options.

What are the benefits of replacing missing teeth?

a).Better Esthetics (looks) and Young Age Feeling.
b).Better support to adjacent & opposite teeth preventing them from bending towards empty space and loosing its integrity & firmness in the jawbone as well as maintaining the charm of your cheeks and facial skin.
c).Proper chewing of food to have good digestion & good health. If food is not minced to small particles by the teeth, the stomach has to do that job & finally the stomach cannot do its own job of mechanising food into blood, as a result, improper digestion and general Health Problems occurs.
d).If you have your complete set of teeth, your mastication (chewing) Force is distributed to all the 32 teeth and thus preventing the overload on the existing remaining teeth and causing their loosening and damage.

What if you replace my missing teeth later in life, as now I am comfortable chewing?

Today, you may have the option of getting fixed teeth replacement, later in life you may not have this option left for you if your last supporting tooth becomes weak or if it is extracted & then you may have to unwillingly go for a removable denture for Better looks & for Better chewing. Secondly, if you decide later in future to replace your missing teeth, you may have already lost the firmness of your cheeks and lip skin, which may make you look older than what your age is.
